Kent Engineering completes independent load modeling on the 15 MW floating design
Kent Engineering delivers independent load modeling on a 15 MW three-column semi-submersible, covering loading, fit, load transfer, and wind effects for the floating-offshore variant of the CLS Wind platform.
Kent Engineering has completed an independent third-party load modeling exercise on the CLS Wind floating-offshore variant, using a 15 MW three-column semi-submersible as the reference platform. The scope covers structural loading, geometric fit, load transfer through the floater deck, and wind-induced effects on the platform-floater system.
The work pairs with the earlier Arup engagement on the fixed-foundation 15 MW design and validates the same core platform principle for the floating case: lift loads route into the floater deck via a dedicated landing plate that sits outside the tower load path. The existing tower is largely bypassed as a load path. The platform principle therefore holds for both fixed monopile and floating semi-submersible foundations.
The engineering report is held in the data room and made available under NDA on request.
